KCC emerges a new business hub at Kowloon West
19 June 2009

The Kowloon Commerce Centre (KCC) will re-shape Kowloon West as a new business hub with its prime site, state-of-the-art office specifications and green building features. The development is leasing well with many large multinationals having already committed to leasing space and negotiations with others nearing conclusion.

Reinvigorating the district
KCC will have two grade-A office buildings. The 35-storey Tower One with floors of 23,000 to 25,000 square feet was completed in second quarter last year. KCC is the first major grade-A office development in the area, modelled on International Finance Centre and International Commerce Centre. The first-class offices will appeal to multinationals and reinvigorate the district.

Leasing is going well. The noted Japanese home appliance manufacturer Sharp-Roxy (Hong Kong) and China Mobile Hong Kong have already committed to leasing, as has DHL Global Forwarding. The three tenants will take up over 200,000 square feet. Negotiations with a number of major multinationals have entered the final stages.

Sustainable office
The intelligent development combines international specifications, high technology, fine architecture and advanced green features that will set new standards for quality offices. KCC also has eco-friendly design concepts and was the first development in Hong Kong to be awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold pre-certification by US Green Building Council.

KCC has comprehensive green features, for example, using expansive curtain walls and a 19-metre glass entrance lobby to allow maximum daylight, CO2 sensors to ensure indoor air quality, electrical installations that meet international energy-efficiency guidelines to save power and recycling condensate water from air-conditioning to reduce sewage output by 50%.

Comprehensive transport
KCC at Kwai Chung Town Lot 215 is in a West Kowloon transportation hub with fast links to Hong Kong International Airport, the mainland border and Kwai Chung terminals, plus easy accessibility via mass transit. An air-conditioned footbridge is being built that will let people get to the Kwai Hing MTR station from the office lobby in just two minutes.
