ICC named Intelligent Building of 2011

International Commerce Centre (ICC) was designated as an Intelligent Building of 2011 by the Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings; the only Hong Kong development to receive the title that year. The Institute cited the building for its intelligent, sustainable design and security and environmental management.

ICC features state-of-the-art technology such as a custom-made, energy-optimizer water-cooled air-conditioning system, as well as intelligent double-deck lifts that are energy efficient and reduce waiting and travelling time.

The Institute defines intelligent buildings as "designed and constructed based on an appropriate selection of quality environment modules to meet user requirements by mapping with the appropriate building facilities to achieve long-term building value". Judging criteria include features and management such as attention paid to the environment, comfort, work efficiency, safety and security.

ICC also won a top platinum HK-BEAM (Building Environmental Assessment Method) ranking from HK-BEAM Society and ISO 50001 Energy Management certification from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, underscoring its status as a world-class development.
