SHKP appoints marketing and leasing consultants for ICC
05 January 2006

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has appointed CB Richard Ellis and Savills as marketing and leasing consultants for its International Commerce Centre (ICC), making them responsible for devising promotional strategies for the development.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Executive Director Victor Lui, CB Richard Ellis Executive Director - Office Services, Asia Nigel Smith and Savills (Hong Kong) Deputy Managing Director Chris Marriott held a press conference today (January 5) to announce the appointments.

The 490-metre, 118-storey ICC will be the focal point of Airport Railway Kowloon Station Development Packages 5, 6 & 7. It will be Hong Kong's tallest building and the world's third tallest in terms of usable floors. The building's 10th to 22nd floors containing about 450,000 square feet of floor area are scheduled for completion by the end of 2007 and will be offered for pre-leasing.

Heart of the future commercial and cultural hub
Mr Lui said that the ultra-modern ICC will rival landmarks around the world like the Empire State Building in New York, Sears Tower in Chicago and Taipei 101 in Taiwan, adding to Hong Kong's status as an international business and financial centre. SHKP's Kowloon Station Development is expected to be a success comparable to major developments such as Canary Wharf in London, la Défense in Paris and Roppongi Hills in Japan, creating a major new business district and reinventing the cityscape of Hong Kong.

Mr Lui added that SHKP is fully confident in the long-term prospects for Hong Kong's grade-A office market, in light of steady demand and continuous recovery in the global economy. There has been a great deal of interest in leasing space in ICC since the ground breaking last September, with some large corporations enquiring about leasing entire floors or more. Potential tenants are impressed by the ultra-modern design and extensive facilities in ICC, and SHKP is satisfied with the favourable response and hopes to finalize some deals soon.

Target tenants for ICC are mainly multinational corporations, Hong Kong and mainland businesses and professional organizations. A marketing campaign will get under way shortly in Hong Kong, the mainland, Europe, the US and other major cities around the world. A show suite for prospective tenants will open in One IFC in mid 2006.

ICC will have a state-of-the-art design and intelligent facilities and infrastructure, as well as exceptional spaciousness with floors covering about 35,000 square feet and ceilings as high as 3.15 metres. It promises to be the most sought-after address in Hong Kong for major corporations in the 21st century, as a local landmark forming half of the stunning Victoria Harbour Gateway with Two IFC on the opposite shore.
