02 August 2011
Tower One of Sun Hung Kai Properties’ Kowloon Commerce Centre (KCC) is fully leased at rents from HK$22 to HK$27 per square foot, and an air-conditioned footbridge linking the development to the Kwai Hing MTR station is now open. It now just takes two minutes to walk from the KCC lobby to Kwai Hing station entrance E, giving tenants and locals greater convenience. Tower One contains over 500,000 square feet of gross floor area, and Tower Two scheduled for completion by third quarter of 2012 will add another 500,000 square feet.
Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency General Manager (Office Leasing) Lo King-wai, Kwai Tsing District Officer Alan Lo, Kwai Tsing District Council Chairman Fong Ping and Kwai Tsing District Council, Hong Kong Police Force Kwai Tsing District and MTR Corporation representatives were at the footbridge opening.
Lo King-wai said: “The footbridge lets people get to Kwai Hing station from KCC in just two minutes, offering greater convenience for tenants and an enhanced environment for the community. We hope that the architectural concept, comprehensive transport and green facilities at KCC will boost the development of Kwai Tsing.” The Tai Lin Pai Road traffic improvement project is now finished, so people can now drive directly from Tai Lin Pai Road to KCC without detouring to Kwai Cheong Road.
KCC will have two grade-A office buildings in the mold of International Finance Centre and International Commerce Centre. It is the first grade-A office development in Kwai Chung, and large tenants like DHL Global Forwarding, China Mobile Hong Kong, Yusen Logistics, N.Y.K. Line, Sanyo Electric and Sharp – Roxy occupy over 350,000 square feet of Tower One. Tower Two will have more retail and restaurant tenants.
KCC is in a prime location in Kowloon West along the mass transit system with convenient access to the airport, mainland border ports and Kwai Chung container terminal. The intelligent development combines international specifications, high technology, fine architecture and advanced green features. It was the first development in Hong Kong to be awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold pre-certification by the US Green Building Council.
