SHKP wins Quality Building Awards four times in a row
Quality Excellence Award for ICC

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has won Quality Building Awards for the fourth time in a row in recognition of its outstanding developments, including replica handbags a Quality Excellence Award, a top honour for overall quality and the best among all the nominations, and three other major awards for International Commerce Centre (ICC).

The biennial awards recognize quality construction projects and the teams behind them. Entries are judged on comprehensive criteria such as project vision and implementation, cost and benefits, construction technique and quality, architecture and property and facility management. Awards are given in residential and non-residential categories.

ICC at Kowloon Station is the tallest building in Hong Kong and contains grade-A offices, a top hotel the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, and the city's unique sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck. The project's exceptional quality and design, prime location and comprehensive facilities have attracted many noted multinational tenants, over 90 percent of which are international financial institutions.

Four top honours

ICC won a Quality Excellence Award – a top honour for its outstanding overall quality and the best among all the nominations, a Quality Building Award in the Hong Kong non-residential (new building) category, a Quality Building Services Engineer Award and a Quality Structural Engineer Award.

Appreciating the support

SHKP Executive Director Mike Wong accepted the awards from Secretary for Development Carrie Lam. He thanked the government, the MTR Corporation, the consultants and contractors who worked on the project and the SHKP team for making the project a success. He said: "I am very pleased with the recognition for our long-term commitment and effort. We believe in Building Homes with Heart and strive to produce premium developments. ICC was over a decade from preparation, planning and design to completion, and it shows our ability to meet challenges, the teamwork between departments and bold concept. It has been called a Vertical Wall Street and houses leading financial, banking and professional firms, and has led the development of West Kowloon into a new business core comparable to Central."

SHKP also won a merit award for Valais by the Beas River in the Hong Kong residential (multiple buildings) category and its home-furnishing mall HomeSquare was selected as a finalist in the Hong Kong non-residential (renovation and revitalization of existing building) category.

The Quality Building Awards are presented by the Hong Kong Construction Association, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Hong Kong Institute of Housing, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the Hong Kong Chapter of the International Facility Management Association, Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency and the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong. SHKP won previous Quality Building Awards for YOHO Town and The Arch in the residential category, Millennium City 5, Four Seasons Hotel and Four Seasons Place in the non-residential category and ION Orchard joint-venture development in Singapore in the project outside Hong Kong category.
